My Sewing Likes and Dislikes

I love fabric. Yes, I have been known to get up in the middle of the night, shuffle to my sewing room and fondle fabrics. I lay them out on the floor, try to figure out what to do with it, pull out books or magazines for inspiration, then put it all away and shuffle back to bed. The next day, I have no idea what was decided in my sleep deprived brain.

Since joining the Houston Modern Quilt Guild, my tastes are constantly evolving. My favorite colors are romantic soft pinks and sapphire blues (toward the lilac tones). That said...I love almost every color, aquas and reds, black and white accents, oranges and greens...and on and on.

Kaffe Fassett (I actually do like his fabric, though I never know what to do with it)

Some of my favorite designers are Oh Fransson!, Crazy Mom Quilts, Pillow and Maxfield, Cluck Cluck Sew, Badbird Patterns, Sublime Stitiching, Hawthorne Threads. My favorite Etsy shop is Badbird (Andra Zuill). Other Etsy shops are Fabricworm, Modernmaterialgirl, etc., etc....

What I generally do not like:

Primary Colors alone
Licensed Novelty prints
Mary Engelbright type of cartoon characters
